Eduardo Contreras Pérez is a globetrotting, award-winning trained sommelier who has worked at some of the finest restaurants and luxury hotels in the world.
Pérez served as Head Sommelier at various properties including the Shangri-La, Qaryat Al Bheri in Abu Dhabi, the Four Seasons at Anahita in Mauritius, the One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai, and Constance Ephelia in Seychelles. Pérez also worked in public relations representing the Perelada Winery in Figueres, Spain, where he helped visitors understand the property’s history and process of winemaking.
Wine expert Pérez holds a number of prestigious accolades including the “Best Tasting Award” and the first runner-up at the International Best Sommelier Competition in Shanghai, China, which was headed by Gerard Basset, the “Best Sommelier of the World 2010.” He also holds experience in wine academia - having spent time at the Culinary Institute of Mexico where he was a visiting professor lecturing on wines, and at Girona University where he focused on Sommelier studies under Josep Roca, Sommelier and owner of the three-Michelin starred and Best Restaurant in the World 2013, El Celler de Can Roca, in Girona, Spain.
